Responsible Gaming

Bet responsibly.

Resources, tools, and our commitment to honest information.

Our Commitment

Bethics believes in transparency, sharp math, and honest information — including about the risks of sports wagering. Sports betting can be enjoyable for many adults, but it carries real risk of financial loss and can become harmful for some. This page exists to help you bet responsibly and to provide resources if you or someone you know needs help.

Bethics Is Not a Sportsbook

Bethics does not accept wagers, hold funds, or facilitate betting. We publish mathematical analysis only. Any actual wagering happens at sportsbooks operated by separate, licensed companies. Their responsible-gaming tools, deposit limits, and self-exclusion programs are available directly through their apps — we strongly encourage you to use them.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 21 years of age to use Bethics. Sports wagering is legal in many U.S. jurisdictions but only for adults of legal age in your state. We do not knowingly serve users under 21.

Recognize the Signs

Problem gambling can develop gradually. Common warning signs include:

  • Spending more time or money on betting than you intended
  • Betting to recover losses ("chasing")
  • Lying to family or friends about betting
  • Borrowing money to bet
  • Feeling restless or irritable when not betting
  • Betting interfering with work, relationships, or sleep

If any of these resonate, please reach out for help. There is no shame in asking for support — many people have walked this path and recovered.

Help Resources

National Council on Problem Gambling (U.S.):

Gamblers Anonymous: gamblersanonymous.org

SAMHSA National Helpline: 1-800-662-HELP (1-800-662-4357)

Many states maintain their own problem-gambling helplines and self-exclusion registries. Visit ncpgambling.org for state-specific resources.

Self-Exclusion

If you decide you need to step away from betting, U.S. sportsbooks offer self-exclusion programs that block your account from accessing their products for a period you specify (typically 1, 5, or lifetime). State gaming commissions also operate cross-operator self-exclusion programs. Bethics fully supports these tools and encourages their use.

If you would like to close your Bethics account in connection with a self-exclusion period, email contact@bethics.net and we will deactivate your account promptly.

Tools and Best Practices

  • Set a budget — only bet money you can afford to lose
  • Use deposit limits — available at every licensed sportsbook
  • Set time limits — don't let betting interfere with work, relationships, or sleep
  • Never bet to recover losses — chasing is the most common path to a problem
  • Don't bet under the influence of alcohol or substances
  • Keep records — tracking your real wins and losses (the way Bethics does) can be a reality check

Bethics' Editorial Posture

You will not find "lock of the day," "hammer this," or "guaranteed winner" language anywhere on Bethics. We believe responsible analysis is honest analysis. Losing picks are posted alongside winning picks. Edge percentages are real probabilities, not marketing. If we ever cross that line, please email us — that's a brand failure and we want to know.
