How Bethics collects, uses, and protects your information.
This Privacy Policy describes how Bethics LLC ("Bethics," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use the Service. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your data transparently.
Account Information: Email address (used as your account identifier and for magic-link authentication).
Payment Information: Billing details for paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Bethics does not store your full credit card numbers; we receive only a tokenized reference and the last four digits for display.
Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, picks tracked. Used to improve the Service and to surface your tracked-bet history within your own account.
Tracked Bets (Local): Bets you choose to track via the "Track" button are stored in your browser's local storage. They are visible only to you and never transmitted to our servers unless explicitly synced to your account.

Bethics uses cookies for authentication session management and local storage for user preferences (view tier, tracked bets). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we retain billing records as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes) and delete other personal data within 90 days, except where retention is required for legitimate business or legal reasons.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of sale (Bethics does not sell personal information).
If you are in the EU or UK, your personal data is processed on the legal bases of contract performance (account management) and legitimate interests (Service improvement). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The Service is intended for users 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If we discover an account belongs to someone under 21, we will close it and delete the data.
We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information. Authentication uses industry-standard JWT tokens via Supabase. Payment processing uses Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure. No system is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice with at least 30 days notice before they take effect.
